Society of Women Engineers Singapore (SWE@SG) was formed on the 8th March 2021 with official launch on the 23rd June 2021 by 4 corporate partners and 4 universities. On 10 March 2021, SWE@SG was chartered on the sunny island of Singapore with a goal to empower women to achieve their full potential as engineers and leaders in Singapore and provide support across all stages of their careers. It will promote a community of like-minded individuals while working actively to advance women in engineering.
SWE@SG serves as a platform where future employers connect with future engineers - an interface where professionals meet students. The four university affiliates, each with unique engineering curriculum, are Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), and National University of Singapore (NUS). SWE@SG engages with the local engineering community by contributing to the National Engineers Day organized by the Institution of Engineers Singapore Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (WiSER). SWE@SG is a global affiliate of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). SWE is the world’s largest advocate and catalyst of change for women in engineering and technology. Founded in Chicago, USA, in 1950, SWE has global reach in more than 70 countries. More information on SWE can be found here.
